How Do Weight-Loss Injectables Work?
Prescription weight-loss injectables are the synthetic version of a Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) naturally produced by the gut. They target areas of the brain that regulate appetite and food intake.
By mimicking Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 (GLP-1), prescription weight-loss injectables can increase insulin secretion and slow down gastric emptying (how fast your stomach empties food) suppressing your appetite and feel fuller longer, helping you ultimately eat less and lose weight in the process.

Medicated Weight-Loss FAQ
Do weight loss injections really work?
Weight loss injections work by altering the body's metabolism or appetite.
How do weight-loss injections work?
Wegovy™ is the first and only prescription weight-management medicine taken once weekly. It’s taken on the same day each week, any time of day, with or without food. You can inject yourself or come into the office for your injection.
Who is medicated weight loss for?
Because it is not a stimulant, Semaglutide is a good solution for those who may not be able to take stimulant-based appetite suppressants such as phentermine. Stimulants are often not prescribed for patients who have existing cardiovascular disease as they can complicate these conditions. Wegovy® can actually reduce the risk of a cardiovascular event while also causing weight loss.
What are weight-loss injection side effects?
Side effects with Semaglutide are rare. At higher doses, we see occasional side effects such as nausea, bloating, diarrhea and constipation.
How much weight can I expect to lose?
In a study conducted by Wegovy®, about 1 in 3 adults achieved a 20% weight loss of approximately 46lbs. The average starting weight was 232lbs.
What is semaglutide?
Semaglutide is the synthetic version of a Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) naturally produced by the gut. Semaglutide targets areas of the brain that regulate appetite and food intake. Semaglutide injectable prescription medicines are typically used for adults with obesity (BMI ≥30) or overweight (excess weight) (BMI ≥27) who also have weight-related medical problems to help them lose weight and keep the weight off.
How long does it take to lose weight?
Weight loss is different for each individual, which is why we begin with low dosages. Our provider may choose to slowly increase your dose depending on your goal, your rate of weight loss, and other factors. We recommend using the Semaglutide injections in combination with a healthy diet and exercise.
How much do weight-loss injections cost?
The program is $110/week. This includes all medication, needles, syringes, and 24/7 access to us for coaching and support to reach your goal. We pride our program on having contact with us whenever you need it because adequate support leads to higher success!
